Achada Igreja, March 16 (Inforpress) - The Mayor of Sao Salvador, Angelo Vaz, said to Inforpress today that "little by little" the City Hall has been able to settle the debts left by the outgoing City Hall team thanks to a management of rationalization of resources.
Five months after the inauguration of this new team, the Mayor said they have so far been able to pay three million escudos of debts left by the African Party of Independence of Cabo Verde due to the non-fulfillment of several contracts, which are now being charged by companies.
The debt initially settled was 230 million escudos, but Angelo Vaz estimates that this debt is higher than this amount, because punctually, he revealed, creditors come to the City Hall to charge.
"We inherited a complicated situation, with the municipality almost financially strangled and leaving the municipality in a situation of some difficulty, but these difficulties will not prevent us from carrying out our mission, which is to govern," he said.
